Sn0wbreeze can preserve your current baseband and update your device to iOS 5.0.1. Remember, the latest redsn0w version can do the same but for some reason people still opt for Sn0wbreeze.

3. Download Sn0wbreeze 2.8b11

4. Run Sn0wbreeze, give it the iOS 5.0.1 .IPSW file

5. From the settings choose wisely the stuff you need. Go to Expert Mode for “preserve your baseband” option if you are a rebel micro sim user.

6. Wait for Sn0wbreezed to cook the custom iOS 5.0.1 file.

7. Open iTunes 10.5, connect your device and use “Shift + Restore” button and give it the custom iOS 5.0.1 beta 1 file you cooked earlier (should be on your desktop).

8. Wait for iTunes to restore the device to iOS 5.0.1 custom .ipsw file.

9. Activate your phone with an orignal simcard from the network it was locked  when sold and you are ready unlock with rebel micro simcards after activation is complete.

10.  Point to note when unlocking iOs 5.01. in the instructions all is the same but at the point when the rebel menu loads and you press accept and in the top left hand corner of the screen you wont see the one bar like this   .      .  instead you will see the message no service.   proceed in the same way as in the user guide  and all will work and get network.

11.  You can use other tools also to perform the baseband downgrade to 04.10.01 on a mac and use tools like redsnow.

Remember, the baseband cannot normally be downgraded, however because Apple are signing the firmwares, and their associated basebands, it is possible, but only until normally after a week of the official release of 5.0.

Place your thumb on on top of the rebel and you will feel the springs on the pro sim adapters push down as you apply more pressure.

Make sure the rebel pro programmer has been plugged on to the USB port of the PCB and let it install the drivers itself using windows update and is the best way to let them auto configure.

Now Slide the green Pro sim adapter in to the pro programmer and run the software after you downloaded it and press Write Card. Card Takes about 30 seconds to program & If it does not show its programming or is writing to fast then thier is a connection error.

Remove the adapter and plug back in to the pro programmer and try agian and if still does not program then check the postion of the rebel micro sims on the adapter or use your thumb to apply more pressure to make a better connection.

When ever you plug the pro sim adapter in and then out of the readers the light will flash and then stay on. On Windows 7 systems when you plug the adapter in the reader you will see a message saying updating drivers and hear a noise alert.You can ignore this message and proceed by pressing write firmware as normal and this is a sign for you that the boot programming mode was found when you plugged the card in to the reader

From the System Option select HTC Android

Select the Model of phone you wish to Network Unlock/CID unlock/User code Reset

After Selecting the HTC Desire/Bravo you will see under Version option where you can find the diffrent bootloaders options.

Select HBOOT version of the HTC Desire/Bravo once you Select the Phone Model.

Before unlocking Android HTC Phones please check your Boot Loader version and make sure you use only the gold card created for the phone with corresponding boot Loader.

How to check bootloader version of HTC Desire ?

Switch off the device. Keep Hold of the Volume Down Button & Press Power ON  button.

You should be able to see the text ‘HBOOT’, and a version number besides it.

This number is the bootloader version HBOOT-0.93.0001

Select the Boot loader Version from the List 0.93.001

You can see now all the correct settings.

Make your Micro SD Card is already inserted in to the Rebel XTC Clip.

Now We are ready to make the gold Card for the correct Version of the Boot and Model of Phone

Press Create Goldcard

The Screen will change to show that a goldcard is being Created.

When the Gold card is ready you will see a pop up showing the contents of the folder.

Screen Will show Gold Card is generated succesfully.

Step B Unlock Phone – (SimLock, Super CID, Security Unlock / S-OFF)

1 Insert the flex PCB Virtual Dummy Sim Adapter in to the Sim gate of the HTC Desire/Bravo Android phone

you are Servicing and in to the rebel XTC clip connector you can see protruding from the side of the clip.

2  Insert the Gold Card you Generated from Step A in the HTC Desire/Bravo

3 Attach the battery to the phone.

4 Attach Battery or USB Cable to the PC/Laptop  to power up the Rebel XTC Clip.

5 Keep Hold of the Volume Button & Press Power ON  button to enter Boot Loader Mode

6 You will see the Boot loader mode and after 10 seconds the unlock software will start

If you watch the Screen you will see the update in progress message.

Then the screen will go blank for 1 second till Diag Mode Starts.

7 Select Diag by Pressing the Action Button in the Centre as shown in the image.

8 Next Press the Action Button when you see Screen showing options to start “Clear s58 Data”

9 Press Power Button to confirm and you will the Message Below & the Phone Will Be Unlocked

If You Get this Error Message at this Stage AT-CMD Time Out then

Recheck the connection of the virtual dummy sim FPCB adapter and replace battery in phone and power on clip and try again.

Out of all the Windows Phone 7 launch partners, HTC’s obviously been the most hard-working but which of the five launch devices is the Taiwanese company’s best work?

Hardware

In addition to the handsome unibody chassis and the 8 megapixel camera (with Xenon flash), there’s also the now-common 1GHz Snapdragon chipset, along with a sharp 3.7-inch SLCD (with better color reproduction and viewing angle than the HD7′s) and 8GB storage capacity.

On the front there are three backlit capacitive buttons below the screen, whereas above the screen you see a shiny grill for the earpiece plus an LED indicator underneath. The remaining buttons — all in matte silver — are located on the sides: volume rocker on the left, power button at the top (where the 3.5mm headphone jack resides as well), and the two-stage camera button at the bottom right.

Unless you’ve been hiding in a cave over the last few months, you should be well aware that Microsoft’s been laying some serious ground rules for strictly no skinning on WP7, which means companies like HTC can’t port a similar experience from their Android or even Windows Mobile 6 offerings. To unlock an iPhone you need the NCK which is a unique 15 digit key. Those keys for unlocking are sitting on Apples servers and send to the iPhone via iTunes while the iPhone is connected to the Mac/PC.

Each iPhone has a unique HWID, NORID, CHIPID, (id’s embedded in the iPhone hardware/chips and unique to each phone), the NCK is only working with the one iPhone where the above are matching. The NCK does not unlock any other iPhone.

Trying to bruteforce the NCK would take years even on high-end computers (NCK Brute Force – The iPhone Wiki).

Trying to guess the NCK is limited as well, After 5 or so unsuccessful attempts, the iPhone becomes permanently locked to the carrier – unless you’re feeling really, really lucky, I wouldn’t try it.

Apple has HWID, NORID, CHIPID… of all iPhones sold in countries, where the iPhone has to be sold unlocked. So once a phone of those is connected via iTunes, the apple servers check HWID, NORID, CHIPID and compare it to their database. If the matching iPhone is marked “factory unlocked” the Apple servers send the unique NCK for this iPhone.
