Rebel Sim II V1.2 New Firmware now Released for Android Windows Mobile & Palm WebOs Smart Phones

![]()
As you know the Rebel simcard Team are always working very hard to make the impossible possible. After Many long sleepless nights and over 200 man hours of Development and testing has gone in to this new firmware for the v1.2 Rebel sim II.
This new firmware V1.2 for Rebel Sim II is created for phones that have the following OS systems.
Windows Mobile Android Web OS
As you know the number of smart phones that appear in the marketplace with these OS’s is growing every day.
Most of the Smart phones cannot be unlocked by normal cable/software based methods. A hand full can be unlocked by purchasing unlock codes or credits to server based unlock solutions but often costing in the region of £25 per phone.
Normally all phones sold by network operators are locked on to the one network the phone is sold on to.
In the UK Dell streak is sold only by O2
In the USA Dell Streak is sold only by AT&T
Dell Has signed Exclusivity deals with the operators for the countries it supplies in.
The Current scenario is like this
You can buy a dell streak direct fro USA an it will still come locked on to AT&T
You can buy a dell streak direct fro UK an it will still come locked on to 02.
So you can say their is No Sim Free Version of the Dell Streak Available and not even direct from Dell as they are bound by contracts they have made for exclusivity.
As Far as being able to obtain a unlock code to enter in the phone to unlock will be a near impossibility as the phones codes are held by the network operators who locked then.
Not Even Dell can supply a unlock code for the locked phones as they would themselves need to contact the network operator who locked the phone in the first place eg AT&T in USA or O2 in the UK.
However all is not Lost and their is only one company in the World who can provide a Stable Solution to allow use of restricted network simcard on the Dell Streak. Solutions Point Limited based in the UK creates a Product Called the Rebel simcard II is the only unlock solution for the Dell Streak for Now.
Its a small chip on a wafer thin pcb that sits under your network card in your phone and does the Magic and allows use any other network simcard and best of all without the use of cables or software or codes and all this without loss of warranty.

Does v1.2 work with the Dell Streak better than v1.1? I’ve read many issues with v1.1 and wondering if those issues have been addressed?
Yes V 1.2 has now enhanced the 3G experience for users
Full in & out Calls Plus High speed data in 3G for all users
More simplified play experience
Auto Detection of APN settings by the Dell Streak users
Works like a Fully unlocked phone
Ordered two of them and VERY excited.
Nice website! Thank you!
Now and then I’ll stumble across a post like this and I’ll recall that there really are still interesting pages on the web. ^_^. Thanks.

Hello I have sucessfully installed a rebel sim card into a Dell Streak brought in form the US. I am on Meteor network in Ireland. How do I access the web with out use of Wif. I have internet add on package on my service.
Thank you for your help
Hi
the APN settings are auto detected for nearly all networks in Dell Streak
if your does not then you can go to the wireless settings page and select APN and add your network settings and save
Rebel Simcard
Hi
when you go to settings page for cellular data. Then click to New APN settings but you may also see a pre populated list of network and settings you can choose from.
This could be due to the type of deal you are on with your provider and you may have a specific APN settings that are not the generic one and when you go the settings page you see list of all the providers settings the Dell streak has read from its internal Database and can try to select the one or simply contact your provider to confirm settings and edit one of the already populated APN settings and change and save.
Press the Menu key
Tap Settings
Tap Wireless controls
Tap Mobile networks
Tap Access Point Names
Press the Menu key
Tap New APN
Tap Name
Tap APN
Tap Proxy
Tap Port
Tap Username
Tap Password
Tap MMSC
Tap MMS
Tap MMS
Tap MNC
Tap APN
Press the Back key five times to return to the standby screen.

if I upgrade my RSC2 to v1.2, will it diectly unlock my palm pre (any version of WebOS) ?
yes
with v1.2 Palm pre is working with full 3G and no signal loss as can auto renew the authentications keys
only thing your should note it you must have already created a Palm profile and be able to enter the phone and only then you can use the rebel simcard II.
to make a profile thier are 2 ways
1 is to use a network simcard that is on the same network
lets take example we have an 02 UK Palm pre phone thats locked
when you buy the phone the first thing you need to do Create a Palm profile. this is a kind of activation feature and without creating a Profile you cant move forward.
now also consider as to make a Profile you need to have an active simcard in the phone which is Post Paid thats on the same network as the locked palm pre.
this means we enter a contract UK O2 simcard in the phone and then you get signal and also the phone detects the APN settings and you then able to create a Palm profile over the air via the 3G or 2G data connection.
No thats not all as not all network simcards from UK can work either that Post Paid/contract as O2 like to make it a little more complicated.
This is all due to an SQL APN database file inside the Palm Pre thats sees the uk network code of the simcard which is 23410 and then reads the table that has the APN files and then you phone can get connected to data.
Not all Uk Post Paid network simcards use the generic APN settings from 02 any more
AS 02 have a few different APN settings for each of its offerings then it can get complicated of you bought the phone second hand or new in an un activated state without a profile.
to cut the Long story short Rebel sim II is working very well in the Palm Pre and on Latest WEB OS 1.4.5 and we do some testing when 2.0 is released by HP later this year.
The other info you need is here if you dont have a network simcard that gives you a working data connection to be able to make a Palm Profile then you can use this other methods also.
If you have a phone and cant create a Palm Profile dont worry. Use the link below.
This way once you have access to the phone then you can use rebel simcard II to Use your Favourite Simcard

No not update unless you use DJ steve hacked version that does not update baseband so can still use rebel sim II
Search Modaco forums for more info
for now 2.2 Os of android in the Dell streak is not full supported and in BETA testing stage only.
However to unlock the Dell Streak we have a remote unlock service starting in next few days to allow full unlocking without needing to send us the dell streak for any network the streak is locked on to
